A thought on Wisdom

God's wisdom is pure, peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy, good fruit, unwavering without hypocrisy. James 3:17

If you need some wisdom, ask Him. He'll give it. Today, allow wisdom to guide your day, not feelings. "Feelings left to themselves will enslave and deplete us." (Jennifer Rothschild)

Vacation June 2009

On Tuesday, June 16Th, our family headed to Palm Beach, Florida for a family vacation. After an eight hour ride we arrived in Juniper, Florida which is about 15 minutes from Palm Beach. Wed. we just hung out and got familiar with the area and prepared for 2 days of scuba diving. Thursday and Friday were diving days. I went along on the boat and kept watch while the guys were down under. Both days they took two dives and loved every minute of it. Christopher said, "I feel like I was swimming in the aquarium at Riverbanks Zoo." On the first day of dives, right as the captain gave the "OK", a monster size sea turtle came right up to the boat. I was amazed and so excited. (WHERE WAS MY CAMERA?) Thursday afternoon we all went snorkeling in the crystal blue water. Friday after the dives, we headed to Orlando for the night and stayed at the Grande Cypress Villa, which was very nice. Sat. morning we headed to SeaWorld for the day. Way back when, we took the boys to Sea World so it was fun to visit again. Sat. evening we drove to St. Augustine and on Sunday morning took a segway tour of that historic city. It was great fun and a treat to have all five of us together. (Above are pictures from our vacation. Click on the arrow to make the pictures move more quickly.) Hope you enjoy them.

Summer Bible Study

Beckie, Cynthia, and I have invited the ladies of our family to participate in the Bible Study, Me Myself & Lies by Jennifer Rothschild. This study is being facilitated by Beth Moore on her blog at Living Proof Ministries. The wonderful thing about this study is that we are a group by email and do not even have to leave our homes. We are learning about our "thought closets". All I can say is, "MERCY!" I love how God tells us how to live and THINK so we can have the abundant life. I know for me my thought life will be a lifelong challenge and the scripture encouragement is just what I need. I want to get rid of any "stinkin" thinking I may have. So today, I will "mediate on his precepts and consider all His ways." I would highly recommend doing this study. If you have questions, check out Beth Moore's blog or let me know if I can help you.

Welcome home from Daisy

video

Daisy really gets depressed when we leave her for an extended period of time. We have a precious neighbor who came several times a day to attend to Daisy's and Floyd's needs while we were on vacation. My sweet sister, Cynthia, came one day to spend some time with Daisy so she would not be so lonely. Daisy would not even come out and play with Cynthia. She was pouting. One of Daisy favorite things to do while we are away is to get up on our DINING ROOM TABLE!!! Well, we have learned to move all the chairs away from the table to prevent her from jumping up. Don't know just how she did it, but the chair was moved and the white table cloth showed signs that"Queen Daisy" had been on the table. She gives us a very hoarse bark when we get back so we will know just how lonely she has been. We love our welcome home from our Daisy girl. :)

Floyd learning to fly

video

Kynn and I are so amazed at how much fun we have had this summer watching our grand-duck grow. Christopher calls Floyd his "son". He wants Floyd to fly so badly. Christopher is like a father trying to teach his son to ride a bike. He's making us laugh!
