Beth Moore Simulcast

This past weekend, I had the privilege of attending the Beth Moore Simulcast at Beulah Baptist Church here in Columbia with a few of my good friends. (Cynthia, Marlene, Cassandra, and Kristi) Beth spoke on Coming Home to the Heart of our Desires and the lessons were based on Ps. 37. As usual, Beth Moore was an excellent teacher of God's word. She is a blessing to so many of us. I thank God for her.

Our evening began with a few presents for Cassandra and Andy's baby boy. He is due to arrive the very end of Nov. Look at his Santa outfit.

Kristi spent the night at our house. Kynn cooked her breakfast Sat. morning. He is so kind. I do love him.

This is a group picture of all the ladies who attended the simulcast. These ladies were awesome. During the break, we ate yummy snacks. These ladies can cook!

Weekend Happenings

This is how my weekend started yesterday. Kynn delivered these flowers to me at work. It was for no special reason. Just a surprise. He is so good to me. I am a blessed lady.

It's going to be a busy weekend. Tonight and tomorrow morning I will be attending the Beth Moore simulcast here in Columbia. My friend, Kristi, is spending the night with me and it will be so good catching up with her. Tomorrow night we are hosting the newlywed Sunday School class for a party and Jamie is having several guys spend the night. (Guys day at the lake tomorrow) :)
Sunday morning we will be off to teach Sunday School (Holiday Expectations) and then to worship. I FEEL A SUNDAY NAP COMING ON! Have a great weekend everyone.

Expectations

Each Sunday morning, Kynn and I have the privilege of teaching the newlywed Sunday School Class at our church. We love serving these young couples and have a blast hanging out with them.
Over the next few Sundays we will be teaching on Marriage Expectations. This Sunday we will talk about Holiday Expectations. Do you remember your first "holidays" as a married couple? What advice would you give to a newlywed couple as they approach their first holiday season?

We would love your input. :) Please and Thank you.

Quotes and Sayings

I thought this was worth sharing.

The real art of converstaion is not only to say the right thing at the right time, but also to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment.

James 1:19
My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen slow to speak and slow to anger.

Maybe the motto for the weekend should be....Slow down......................with our mouths.

Have a great one everybody.

S-E-N-I-O-R-S are the best!

First day of school for Jamie. He is a senior and loving it. We took the annual picture on the front porch. I will be adding that picture tomorrow. It's our last time. We have always taken pictures on the front porch the first day of school. Next year, Daisy will have to sit by herself for the picture. Happy School Year Everyone!

My Dad

I am totally amazed with my dad. Over the past several months, he has experienced some very painful health issues which caused him to become physically weak. During this time, he had weeks that he was basically home bound. This was extremely hard on him because he is such a people person.
Back in 1989, he had emergency open heart surgery and then 10 or so years later, he needed to have the surgery again. In all of his times of health issues, he has never given up. He is determined to LIVE life and keep on going. This week he has returned to cardiac rehab. and is exercising once again. It may be at a slower rate, (I think he is doing about 30 minutes which does not seem slow to ME) but he is going for it and momma says he is stronger.
During his recovery time of open heart surgery, Daddy began cross-stitching to help pass the time. He has never put it down. He makes beautiful pieces and usually gives them away to his friends. I am so glad his pain has lessened and I am really proud of his determination. Way to go, Daddy!

The picture on the wall behind the lamp is a cross stitch piece of the names of God. It is beautiful. And, that's my mom, Maxine Patterson.

Mr. and Mrs. Ryne Turner

This past weekend we attended the wedding of Ryne and Jenny Turner. Spencer had the honor of being the Best Man. Ryne's father, Steve, performed the ceremony. It was so nice. The reception was loads of fun. Best Wishes to the newlyweds.

Floyd Update

Christopher reports that Floyd is doing very well. He went by the pond last night and Floyd was swimming with the other ducks. Christopher called his name and Floyd lifted his head and looked at him. Way to go, Floyd! We are happy for you.

Floyd

I have a picture or two and a video of Christopher and Floyd to post, hopefully after supper tonight. Christopher called and he has released Floyd. It was HARD! He'll give me more details later.

Monday Night

It's Monday night and Christopher leaves in the morning to go back to college. Where has summer gone? He will be taking Floyd with him to release at a duck pond in Anderson. What a fun summer we have had with the duck! We will miss Floyd and think about him a lot! I hope there is a girl duck waiting for him. :)This morning, Floyd was allowed to come into the kitchen to play for a while. (He was NOT an inside pet this summer) :) He will forever be a good family memory for all of us!

It's Saturday - Yeah!

Depending on the weather today, we just might go fishing again. We love going to Bobby and Marlene's. Have a great weekend everyone.
