#4 My Bible

Here is a poem that I have written in the pages of my Bible. I am not sure who wrote this one. If you know, please leave me their name in the comment section. I would love to give credit where credit is due. I hope you like this poem.

Autobiography in five short Paragraphs

Day 1 - I walked down the street. There is a hole in the street. I fall in. I am lost. I am helpless. It isn't my fault. It takes forever to find a way out.

Day 2 - I walk down the street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I pretend I didn't see it. I fall in. I can't believe I'm in the same place, but it isn't my fault. It still takes me a long time to get out.

Day 3 - I walk down the street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I see it there. I still fall in. It's a habit! My eyes are open. I know where I am. It is my fault. I get out immediately.

Day 4 - I walk down the street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I walk around it.

Day 5 - I walk down a different street.

My Bible

I was given the Bible that I currently use by Marlene Chandler for my birthday on Dec. 20, 1997. I love this Bible and have been through many seasons of life with it.. Recently, I have realized that it is time for a new Bible because this one has begun to fall apart. :( I am one who underlines and writes in the margins and in the front and back covers of this special book. I can see certain quotes that I have written and know which study or group of ladies I was with when I wrote it in my Bible. In the next little while I plan on shopping for my new Bible and know that I will have more wonderful memories of God's faithfulness to me. Great is his faithfulness.

The following quotes by my pastor, Dick Lincoln, are written in the front and back covers of my Bible.

Sometimes God may prioritize the faith required to continue trusting Him when we don't get what we ask, OVER the faith required to receive it.

Everything I have is yours. That is the attitude I should have. I feel sorry for the man who puts money in the plate to support the church. It should be an act of worship to God. The tithe is a check on your submission to God.
