Introducing Mr. and Mrs. ................

Mr. and Mrs. FloydKynn and I took a rode trip to Anderson on Tues. to visit with Christopher. It is so nice that it is not too far away. Of course, we had to go check on Floyd. He was sticking pretty close to the Mrs. (we still are not 100% sure that Floyd is a Mr.) We are hoping that springtime will let us know for sure which is the "momma" and which is the "daddy". Yes we are hoping for some babies. We KNOW that this is Floyd by his ankle tag. :)All the ducks decided that even though it was extremely cold, they still could sneak in one game of "Duck, Duck, Goose". Check out Mr. Goose in the upper right hand corner of the photo.
Just hanging out! Life is good. Floyd has never been happier.

This is the thawing pond. Christopher told us that it had been completely frozen last week. Fun times, and good memories with FLOYD THE DUCK!
Yes, Christopher is doing fine. We went out to dinner and had a great visit.

Very Early this morning

I woke up way to early this morning. 4:00 AM. Scream. Especially since it is New Year's Eve and I will be up really late.
(We have had a New Year's Eve party for years. Friends, family, parents, children, and a trashed house by the end of the night. Our goal was to keep our children out of the streets, away from all the drunks, so we started having a party very early on. They could invite ALL their friends. Good times.)
A gently word came from the Lord. It came in my quiet time very early this morning. First of all, as most of you know, God is so very personal, with me, with you too I am sure. He knows my current struggle and has spoken. It is so amazing that I used four different sources (Bible, A call to die, Streams in the desert, and Daily Spiritual Blessings) and each reading tied right in to one another. Coincident? I don't think so.

When I got up, I quietly left the bedroom so I would not wake Kynn. Of course, I forgot to get my Bible. I remembered that Mrs. Harris' Bible was in our den, so I used it. What a sweet treasure to have her Bible with notes in her handwriting. There are not many handwritten notes, but the ones that are there are powerful. Like this one......

"But the children of Be'li-al said, How shall this man save us? And they despised him and brought him no presents. But he held his peace."

BUT HE HELD HIS PEACE was underlined and written beside it in her handwriting was....Proper attitude.

So there you have my struggle. There is a time to hold my peace and today is that time. I am so thankful that God gives me advice and counsel ...now may I accept and act (or in this situation....NOT ACT with words or attitude) on his Word.

I don't know if you can use this word or not today. If so, remember to hold your peace. It will be the proper attitude. Pray for me and I'll pray for you.

Four Wheeling

All fresh and clean

Not for long. Mud, lots of mud!

Kynn: "Did water just go in your shoe?"
Lorie: YES!"
Kynn was riding on the back and saw my foot go under water and knew to hold his up! He thought it was terribly funny!

We got STUCK a couple of times. It was a great time.
Let's do this AGAIN.

A Surprise Phone Call

Olá Ma'rica,

Obrigado pelo telefonema. Feliz Ano Novo.

Lorie

I got a phone call from Alex's mother yesterday. Alex was our foreign exchange student last year. What a wonderful surprise.

It started with a TEXT message

On Monday, Kynn sent a text message to all of us. It read,

"I have a surprise planned for Wednesday. Dress warm! Let me know if you have a conflict. "
We went on a four wheeling adventure today. Loads of fun and LOTS of mud. Pictures and video to follow soon.
What a wonderful dad and husband.

Sisters and Family

Cynthia, Lorie and Beckie

Momma, Beckie, Lorie, Cynthia, Rene, Flora Beth, Cortney, Susan Dale, (mother of the groom) and Marjo.

We were at the bridal luncheon for my cousin's child. The bride, Erica, and all her attendants had gone to have their hair done for the wedding. We all had a great time visiting and even taught Susan Dale how to do the electric slide. AND, yes indeed, she danced the night away.
