We Remember

Today is Sarah Harris' birthday. She was Kynn's mom and my mother-in-law. And a good mother-in-law indeed. She was such a sweet, sweet lady. There are so many wonderful memories and we have enjoyed remembering her today. Of course, it does make us sorta sad too, because we miss her so much.

She was affectionately known as Grandmomma. My boys loved her madly, and she was crazy about them too. Each summer when our guys were little, we would take them to Alabama and leave them for three weeks. They were loved with a love that only a grandmother can give. We have been told that if one of the guys wanted McDonald's, and one wanted pizza, and one wanted Burger King, well then, they all got what they wanted. They would get in the car and make the rounds. Wal-mart was an every day event. Yes, I mean, an every day event. Baths were not a requirement, and I don't think their hair got washed. Riding a tractor with granddaddy, playing with the water hose, riding the go cart, and swimming at cousin Stan's house were daily activities.

I can remember when we would go visit in Alabama, she would hug Kynn over and over. She would hold his hand, and just want to talk with him. I loved that about her. She still loved "her" baby and wanted to hear all the details about his life. I wanted Kynn to also have a relationship with her and care about her life. In her later years, he tenderly cared for his mom and was a great son.

As a mother-in-law, she accepted me into the Harris family and she would hug me too. :) She was so easy to talk with and I adored her laugh. She was the BEST cook in the world and I always gained weight when we visited. I just could not help myself. I loved her.

So, today we say Happy Birthday Grandmomma. We miss you!

Happy Birthday to Grandmomma

Today we are remembering Grandmomma's birthday. (Kynn's mom) This is her first birthday in the presence of her Lord, Jesus Christ. I wonder just how birthdays are celebrated in heaven.

Mrs. Harris had many names. She was known as Sarah to her family and friends, Sweetheart to her husband, momma to her sons, and most affectionately Grandmomma to her grandsons. Ahh yes, life stopped at the Harris household when Grandmomma was around. She was the type that got in the floor and played ball or cars, walked barefooted outside and took little boys to Wal-Mart ANYTIME they wanted to go. McDonalds made a fortune off her. Pizza Hut did well too.

What awesome memories we have of this precious lady. Heaven has a treasure. We miss you!

Fun with Granddaddy

Over the 4th of July, my parents came and spent the weekend with us. Jamie and my dad, James Patterson, had a big time playing with each other. Sat. morning started off with just the guys going to breakfast together. It was a great day and the two of them had a great time together.

We ate breakfast at IHOP! Yum Yum!!!

Daisy got the pancake "leftovers!" She was a happy dog! :)

We made silly faces!!!

Ping Pong!

Chinese Checkers! Granddaddy won the first three games. Jamie finally took the last one.

We fed the Geese at Bobby and Marlene's house.

We played..... throw the golf ball in the center hole of the table. Not as easy as you would think!! Fun memories. What a GRAND Daddy!!!.
