Much Quieter Around Here

Christopher is back at college. Today, I realized how quiet the house has become once again. Jamie is at the beach with his friend Nic, and I have been here much of the day by myself. (that is not all bad.) :) We so enjoyed having Christopher back with us this summer. We never knew when he and his friends would be in and out....all hours of the day. Anyway.....He is gone and we do miss him.

Packing up for his second year at Anderson University. Christopher will be a Resident Director this year for a Freshman Dorm. We're proud of him.

Stuff

It took two vehicles to get his "stuff" back to school. Jamie drove Christopher's car and was followed by Christopher driving Jamie's truck. I was not too sure about Jamie being on the interstate for a long trip by himself. However, Dad told Mom, "he needs to spread his wings. Let him go!" Jamie was pleased with his dad. As you can see in the picture, Daisy, our dog, was depressed as they pulled out of the neighborhood. The best part of the day was the sound of the garage door. Jamie made it home safe and sound. :)

I Keep Forgetting

This morning I found a "message card" that I bought some time ago. I had "forgotten" I had even bought the thing. It read.....

Oh Yeah. I keep forgetting.

It's not about me! It IS about HIM!

"All things were created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. Colossians 1:16-17

May I NOT forget HIM.

I have been thinking this morning how easily I forget things. I guess life gets so busy and so many distractions come my way that I FORGET. Many times there are life lessons to learn when we "forget" to do something.

These are some of the things I have forgotten......(What have you forgotten?)

1. Forgot to bring my leftovers home from the restaurant. (Makes me sad the next day)
2. Forgot where I put my keys.
3. Forgot to call the tooth fairy and let her know that one of the boys lost a tooth. (Got to really hate that one!)
4. Forgot to send that birthday card.
5. Forgot to make that bank deposit. (ouch!)
6. Forgot to RSVP for that special party.
7. Forgot that I am a child of the KING.
8. Forgot to take the cake out of the oven. (Dog gone it!)
9. Forgot how fast time flies when you are having fun. (Christopher leaves in the morning to return for his second year of college.)
10.OH NO.....I forgot I have an appointment this morning. GOT TO GO!!!

Wisdom

20 Rules of Wisdom

1. God wants spiritual fruit, not religious nuts.
2. Dear God, I have a problem, it is me.
3. Growing old is inevitable, growing UP is optional.
4. There is no key to happiness. The door is always open.
5. Silence is often misinterpreted, but never misquoted.
6. Do the math....count your blessings.
7. Faith is the ability to not panic.
8. Laugh every day, it's like inner jogging.
9. If you worry, pray. If you pray, don't worry.
10. As a child of God, praying is like calling home everyday.
11. Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be bent out of shape.
12. THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS IN YOUR HOME ARE THE PEOPLE.
13. When we get tangled up in our problems, be still. God wants us to be still so he can untangle the knot.
14. A grudge is a heavy thing to carry.
15. He who dies with the most toys is still dead.
16. We do not remember days, we remember moments. Life is moving to fast--so cherish your precious moments.
17. Nothing is real to you until you experience it, otherwise it is just hearsay.
18. It's ok to sit on your pit pot every now and again. Just be sure to flush when you are done.
19. Don't procrastinate. Do it now! God has not promised us tomorrow, so live each day as if it were your last....it may be!
20. Surviving and living your life successfully requires courage. The goals and dreams you're seeking require courage and risk taking. Learn from the turtle. It only makes progress when it sticks its neck out.
